We are using NewGL functionality and have multiple non-leading ledgers. The new GL functionality is working fine and overall no complaints. However in a curious case, and this has been there since the initial system build - there was no scenarios activated for just one non-leading ledger.

Scenarios FIN_PCA, FIN_CCA has not been assigned to one non-leading ledger and as a result FAGLFLEXA is not recording those values for that specific non-leading ledger.

The fix would be pretty simple - add these in the config.

But in New GL if they are aware of any complications arising out of the config change. Does it cause any problems down the line in the live or production server. And is there a way to retroactively update the documents that have already been posted without the scenarios?

Solution:

If the scenario is not assigned to the ledger then the fields will not be updated in the NewGL tables.

Once you have assigned the the scenarios to the ledger then for any new postings the field will be updated, but for postings that took place before you assigned the scenario the field will remain blank.

This is why SAP ask customers to complete their NewGL and document splitting customising, and to fully test it, before go-live, to avoid such issues. Please see the note 891144 for further information.

Unfortunately there is no standard transaction/tool for that. we are really sorry that I do not have a more positive answer than that.

The only option you now have is to move the configuration to production at the beginning of next Financial year. So before any posting in the new year happens, you have the configuration in place to have P&L & BS from next year onward on Business area basis as well. The only way to handle this.
